APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST
Job Description/Objectives:
Because of the build of an IS Competence Center in Brussels, the scope of the 2nd level Support Team is expanding with new applications, an opportunity has arisen for a Support Analyst who will be supporting ERP applications (Merchandise Management and Supply Chain Systems) and other satellite systems. The position will report to the Team Lead 2nd level Support in Europe.
The candidate will go through an induction program, and become acquainted with the support environment by following existing procedures. Once integrated the candidate will additionally make proposals for new procedures and automation of existing procedures.
Support end-users in all EU locations.
Responsibilities:
Support
- Perform 2nd and 3rd level support to end users as required, personally and/or with the help of other resources (internal or external) to resolve all support tickets raised.
- Ensure that the business Users and the various European IS teams have appropriate training.
Delivery
- Get the user issues solved , by gathering the correct info, investigating the related programs, requesting functional info from the functional team
- Log program-modifications for bugs
- Efficient communication within the team and towards the users
- Monitoring business critical processes
- Document procedures for handover to 1st line support
Customer User Partnering
- Develop on-going relationships with key business users and IS Teams, to discuss solutions, plan work activities, communicate progress and to drive decisions when required.
- Act as an internal consultant to the other IS teams

Qualification/Requirements:
Essential
· Broad knowledge of IS systems
· Experience in a 2nd level support environment
· Programming skills: 1-3 years experience in programming
· Analytical skills: 3-5 years experience in application analysis
· Database design and technology
· Interface architecture
· Knowledge of the MS Office suite; MS Access, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
· Fluent in English.
· Ability to work in a procedural way; be able to follow existing procedures and write new ones for recurring issues
· Team player
· Pragmatic approach
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize between the needs of different tasks.
· Good time-management skills (ability to progress different topics concurrently)
· Good interpersonal skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Desirable
· Experience in PC Environment (Object Oriented Programming), XML, XSLT technology
· Websphere MQ Series
· Version Control utilities
· Embedded SQL, stored procedures
· Other languages such as German, French, Dutch is a plus
